Conditions of Use and Warranties


Ribbon Cafe has a policy of discouraging practices that are environmentally damaging. Where possible, we use cardboard packaging and paper tape. Sometimes we re-use packaging so don't be surprised if your order arrives in a box marked "canned peas" or similar. We will continue to use what plastic we have left in stock and then replace all plastic bags with paper bags. Ribbon Cafe uses mostly biodegradable cellulose-based cellophane bags to supply small items. These bags will biodegrade and are naturally anti-static. Our packaging materials are also degradable, where possible, and we reuse packaging from orders we receive from suppliers in customer orders to extend the life of those packaging materials. We highly encourage customers to reuse and recycle packaging materials from Ribbon Cafe orders as far as possible. Ribbon Cafe is mostly solar powered. Our solar system stats can be seen here.


Payments for purchase orders from approved entities are strictly net 14 days. For all other orders, payment by credit card (via Paypal), or a direct deposit is required with order prior to shipment of goods. Orders that are not paid for at the time they are placed will be cancelled if payment or contact from the buyer has not been received within 5 days. Orders that are then subsequently paid for will of course be reinstated and filled once payment has cleared.


Quoted prices will be firm for a period of 14 days. Webshop prices are in Australian Dollars and are subject to change without notice.


Title of the goods shall only pass to the buyer following full payment of the invoiced amount.


Shipping insurance is available on all orders over $100.


If an item proves to have been defective at the time of purchase, Ribbon Cafe will pay for the freight of any replacement item. The buyer accepts liability for freight costs incurred in the return of warranty repair or where goods are being returned for a refund for other reasons.


We always work with customers to enable the best outcome. Should you have any problems with your order, please contact us immediately so that we can rectify the problem.


Orders may be cancelled within 1 hour of the order being placed. Goods will be held until confirmation of the order is received.  Ribon Cafe reserves the right to cancel any order for any reason that we deem makes it necessary to do so, including, but not limited to, stock unavailability, webshop errors or pricing errors. If a cancelled order has already been paid for, a full refund will be issued as soon as possible.


Goods returned for credit will not be accepted without prior authorisation. Claims will not be recognised unless made within seven (7) days of delivery.

Buyer covers cost of returned goods and should be insured if value over $100.
